A strange little side quest
The fun part of looking behind Last War: Survival Battle is seeing how many older ideas are still alive in modern play. Modern chess traces back to the Indian game chaturanga, recorded around the sixth century and built around pieces representing parts of an army. It also connects to a different milestone: A major archery competition held at Finsbury in England in 1583 drew about 3,000 participants. The screen is modern; the urge to test skill, pattern and timing definitely is not.
