A strange little side quest
Zoom out from Kiwi Story for a moment and the timeline gets surprisingly deep. Donkey Kong arrived in 1981 with a character called Jumpman, who would later become one of gaming's most recognizable figures: Mario. And the history keeps stacking up: By 1987, fantasy role-playing had become a major computer-game direction, with Zelda, licensed Dungeons & Dragons games and other story-led adventures expanding the form. That is the kind of background detail that makes another attempt at Kiwi Story feel a bit more connected to the history of play.
