A strange little side quest
Attack on Titan WIP 02 has plenty of company in a long tradition of players chasing timing, patterns and better decisions. By 1987, fantasy role-playing had become a major computer-game direction, with Zelda, licensed Dungeons & Dragons games and other story-led adventures expanding the form. A second detail makes the picture even better: Street Fighter II, released in 1991, turned head-to-head arcade fighting into a worldwide phenomenon and helped define the modern fighting-game genre. That is the kind of background detail that makes another attempt at Attack on Titan WIP 02 feel a bit more connected to the history of play.
