A strange little side quest

Before the next round of Intruder Combat Training, here is a piece of the bigger picture. Space Invaders arrived in 1978 and helped turn electronic games from an arcade curiosity into mainstream entertainment. A second detail makes the picture even better: Pong was field-tested in California bars in 1972 and helped launch the modern arcade-game era. That gives Intruder Combat Training a little more company than it first appears to have.
