A strange little side quest
The rules may be simple on screen, but the backstory around Insectonator Zombie Mode is anything but tiny. Gun Fight reached arcades in 1975 and became the first arcade video game to use a microprocessor. That old idea kept changing rather than disappearing. In 1958, Tennis for Two used an analog computer and an oscilloscope to turn simple physics into a playable tennis-like demonstration. The details change, but the appeal of learning a system and trying again is remarkably persistent.
