A strange little side quest
Ice Cream Mania has plenty of company in a long tradition of players chasing timing, patterns and better decisions. Cone-shaped wafers with cream were described in print before 1900, but the ice-cream cone became a major American fairground hit at the 1904 St. Louis World's Fair. That old idea kept changing rather than disappearing. Reader Rabbit's 1986 arrival was part of a major expansion of educational computer software before the CD-ROM boom of the 1990s. It is a good reminder that simple game mechanics can carry a surprising amount of history.
