A strange little side quest
A little context makes Eco Empire more fun to place on the gaming map. Games resembling checkers were being played thousands of years ago; evidence of related games reaches back to around 1600 BC. A second detail makes the picture even better: Reader Rabbit's 1986 arrival was part of a major expansion of educational computer software before the CD-ROM boom of the 1990s. That is the kind of background detail that makes another attempt at Eco Empire feel a bit more connected to the history of play.
