A strange little side quest
Even a quick game like How to Cook a Turkey sits on top of decades — and sometimes centuries — of ideas. Tomatoes helped turn Naples' flatbreads into the food we recognize as pizza, which had become an important food for poorer Neapolitans by the 18th century. It also connects to a different milestone: During much of the 19th century in the United States, visibly painted cosmetics became socially unacceptable even though beauty practices never disappeared. That history is one reason familiar mechanics can still feel new when they are recombined well.
