A strange little side quest
The rules may be simple on screen, but the backstory around Half Pipe Skateboarding is anything but tiny. A major archery competition held at Finsbury in England in 1583 drew about 3,000 participants. And the history keeps stacking up: Basketball became an Olympic medal sport in 1936, while women’s basketball joined the Olympic programme in 1976. That gives Half Pipe Skateboarding a little more company than it first appears to have.
