A strange little side quest
Zoom out from Girls Photoshopping Dressup for a moment and the timeline gets surprisingly deep. By the 1890s, department stores and mail-order catalogs were selling mass-produced ready-to-wear clothes in standardized styles and price ranges. The broader history adds one more wrinkle. Nintendo's Donkey Kong arrived in 1981 and introduced the character first known as Jumpman, who later became Mario. That history is one reason familiar mechanics can still feel new when they are recombined well.
