A strange little side quest
Dora Saves the Prince belongs to a much longer story of play than a browser tab might suggest. By the 1890s, department stores and mail-order catalogs were selling mass-produced ready-to-wear clothes in standardized styles and price ranges. There is another connection worth keeping in the same mental pocket: The Oregon Trail eventually appeared across generations of computer hardware and sold tens of millions of copies, making it one of the most enduring educational games. That gives Dora Saves the Prince a little more company than it first appears to have.
