A strange little side quest

Between one round of Devil's Gate and the next, this is worth knowing: A major archery competition held at Finsbury in England in 1583 drew about 3,000 participants. The broader history adds one more wrinkle. Pac-Man went on sale in 1980, and its creator Toru Iwatani famously linked the character's shape to a pizza with a slice missing. That long chain of experiments is part of why archery still feels fresh when a game finds the right twist.
