A strange little side quest
The rules may be simple on screen, but the backstory around Design a Baby is anything but tiny. Spacewar! appeared on MIT's PDP-1 in 1962 and became one of the earliest influential computer games shared among programmers. Another piece of context lands nicely beside it: Nintendo's Donkey Kong arrived in 1981 and introduced the character first known as Jumpman, who later became Mario. So a round of Design a Baby is not just a quick distraction; it is a tiny stop on a much longer video-game history timeline.
