A strange little side quest
Between one round of Decorate Cake and the next, this is worth knowing: Nancy Johnson patented a hand-cranked ice-cream freezer in 1843 that used an inner churning chamber surrounded by ice. That old idea kept changing rather than disappearing. The Oregon Trail mixed travel, supplies, risk and survival decisions decades before resource-management systems became common in mainstream games. The details change, but the appeal of learning a system and trying again is remarkably persistent.
