A strange little side quest
Put Cake Creations next to the history of food history and a few unexpected connections appear. Electric refrigeration reached the American mass market in the late 1920s, changing how households stored food and even how desserts such as ice cream could be made at home. There is another connection worth keeping in the same mental pocket: M.U.L.E. arrived in 1983 with multiplayer competition built around gathering resources and keeping a colony alive, an early example of resource-driven strategy play.
