A strange little side quest
Blockys has plenty of company in a long tradition of players chasing timing, patterns and better decisions. The first crossword puzzle book appeared in 1924 in a cautious initial printing of 3,600 copies, complete with a free pencil. The broader history adds one more wrinkle. Computer Space reached arcades in 1971 and became one of the earliest commercial electronic arcade games, even though its controls proved demanding for many players. That is the kind of background detail that makes another attempt at Blockys feel a bit more connected to the history of play.
