A strange little side quest
The fun part of looking behind Bingo Mania is seeing how many older ideas are still alive in modern play. Tomatoes helped turn Naples' flatbreads into the food we recognize as pizza, which had become an important food for poorer Neapolitans by the 18th century. That old idea kept changing rather than disappearing. Pac-Man went on sale in 1980, and its creator Toru Iwatani famously linked the character's shape to a pizza with a slice missing. That long chain of experiments is part of why food history still feels fresh when a game finds the right twist.
