A strange little side quest
Between one round of Bento Maker and the next, this is worth knowing: Cone-shaped wafers with cream were described in print before 1900, but the ice-cream cone became a major American fairground hit at the 1904 St. Louis World's Fair. A second detail makes the picture even better: Barbie Fashion Designer became a major software hit in 1996, selling more than 500,000 copies in two months and proving there was a large audience for fashion-focused computer play. That gives Bento Maker a little more company than it first appears to have.
