A strange little side quest
Between one round of Archery Bastions: Castle War and the next, this is worth knowing: Archery first appeared at the Olympic Games in 1900 and returned permanently to the programme in 1972 after a long absence. That old idea kept changing rather than disappearing. Arthur Wynne published a diamond-shaped 'Word-Cross' in the New York World on December 21, 1913; the name later shifted to 'Cross-Word' and then 'crossword'. That is the kind of background detail that makes another attempt at Archery Bastions: Castle War feel a bit more connected to the history of play.
