A strange little side quest
Before the next round of Apollo Survival, here is a piece of the bigger picture. The Moon orbits Earth at an average distance of about 385,000 kilometres, and surface gravity there is roughly one-sixth as strong as Earth's. It also connects to a different milestone: Doom changed game design and distribution in 1993 by separating its engine from content and spreading widely through shareware. That is the kind of background detail that makes another attempt at Apollo Survival feel a bit more connected to the history of play.
