A strange little side quest
Zoom out from Zombies Can Sing Too for a moment and the timeline gets surprisingly deep. Spacewar! appeared on MIT's PDP-1 in 1962 and became one of the earliest influential computer games shared among programmers. The surprising part is how quickly the next milestone followed. Nintendo's Donkey Kong arrived in 1981 and introduced the character first known as Jumpman, who later became Mario. That long chain of experiments is part of why video-game history still feels fresh when a game finds the right twist.
