A strange little side quest
Before the next round of Zombie Warrior Man, here is a piece of the bigger picture. By 1987, fantasy role-playing had become a major computer-game direction, with Zelda, licensed Dungeons & Dragons games and other story-led adventures expanding the form. There is another connection worth keeping in the same mental pocket: Gun Fight reached arcades in 1975 and became the first arcade video game to use a microprocessor. That history is one reason familiar mechanics can still feel new when they are recombined well.
