A strange little side quest

Put Tap Wars next to the history of space and a few unexpected connections appear. Humans did not see the Moon's far side until a Soviet spacecraft flew past it in 1959. A second detail makes the picture even better: A major archery competition held at Finsbury in England in 1583 drew about 3,000 participants. It is a good reminder that simple game mechanics can carry a surprising amount of history.
