A strange little side quest
The fun part of looking behind Geometry Head is seeing how many older ideas are still alive in modern play. Women competed in Olympic archery as early as 1904, making it one of the early Olympic sports to include women. There is another connection worth keeping in the same mental pocket: Spacewar! appeared on MIT's PDP-1 in 1962 and became one of the earliest influential computer games shared among programmers. The details change, but the appeal of learning a system and trying again is remarkably persistent.
