A strange little side quest
The mechanics around Swipe the Ball have roots that stretch far beyond modern browsers. Archery was already on the Olympic programme in 1900, boxing joined the modern Games in 1904, and basketball became a medal sport in 1936. And then there is this: Computer Space reached arcades in 1971 and became one of the earliest commercial electronic arcade games, even though its controls proved demanding for many players. That gives Swipe the Ball a little more company than it first appears to have.
