A strange little side quest
Blocky Kick belongs to a much longer story of play than a browser tab might suggest. The first penalty shoot-out in World Cup history came in the 1982 semi-final between West Germany and France. There is another connection worth keeping in the same mental pocket: Archery was already on the Olympic programme in 1900, boxing joined the modern Games in 1904, and basketball became a medal sport in 1936. The details change, but the appeal of learning a system and trying again is remarkably persistent.
