A strange little side quest
Before the next round of Sprunki Specimen, here is a piece of the bigger picture. Computer Space reached arcades in 1971 and became one of the earliest commercial electronic arcade games, even though its controls proved demanding for many players. A second detail makes the picture even better: In 1958, Tennis for Two used an analog computer and an oscilloscope to turn simple physics into a playable tennis-like demonstration. That long chain of experiments is part of why video-game history still feels fresh when a game finds the right twist.
