A strange little side quest
Before the next round of Sprunki + Cuphead, here is a piece of the bigger picture. Pong was field-tested in California bars in 1972 and helped launch the modern arcade-game era. That old idea kept changing rather than disappearing. Computer Space reached arcades in 1971 and became one of the earliest commercial electronic arcade games, even though its controls proved demanding for many players. That long chain of experiments is part of why video-game history still feels fresh when a game finds the right twist.
