A strange little side quest
Soviet Sniper has plenty of company in a long tradition of players chasing timing, patterns and better decisions. Doom changed game design and distribution in 1993 by separating its engine from content and spreading widely through shareware. The same trail leads to another fact: In 1958, Tennis for Two used an analog computer and an oscilloscope to turn simple physics into a playable tennis-like demonstration. That is the kind of background detail that makes another attempt at Soviet Sniper feel a bit more connected to the history of play.
