A strange little side quest
Smash Down: Demolition Ball has plenty of company in a long tradition of players chasing timing, patterns and better decisions. A major archery competition held at Finsbury in England in 1583 drew about 3,000 participants. It also connects to a different milestone: Nintendo's Donkey Kong arrived in 1981 and introduced the character first known as Jumpman, who later became Mario. The details change, but the appeal of learning a system and trying again is remarkably persistent.
