A strange little side quest
If Shape Fold Animals sends you down a curiosity rabbit hole, start here. The name Tetris combines a reference to four-square pieces with Pajitnov's interest in tennis. There is another connection worth keeping in the same mental pocket: Computer Space reached arcades in 1971 and became one of the earliest commercial electronic arcade games, even though its controls proved demanding for many players. That long chain of experiments is part of why puzzles still feels fresh when a game finds the right twist.
