A strange little side quest
A small trivia drop for Rugby: Basketball became an Olympic medal sport in 1936, while women’s basketball joined the Olympic programme in 1976. The same trail leads to another fact: Spacewar! appeared on MIT's PDP-1 in 1962 and became one of the earliest influential computer games shared among programmers. It is a good reminder that simple game mechanics can carry a surprising amount of history.
