A strange little side quest
Before the next round of Roxie's Kitchen Pizzeria, here is a piece of the bigger picture. Barbie Fashion Designer became a major software hit in 1996, selling more than 500,000 copies in two months and proving there was a large audience for fashion-focused computer play. It also connects to a different milestone: Spacewar! appeared on MIT's PDP-1 in 1962 and became one of the earliest influential computer games shared among programmers. That gives Roxie's Kitchen Pizzeria a little more company than it first appears to have.
