A strange little side quest
The rules may be simple on screen, but the backstory around Roll Master 3D is anything but tiny. Nintendo's Donkey Kong arrived in 1981 and introduced the character first known as Jumpman, who later became Mario. There is another connection worth keeping in the same mental pocket: Women competed in Olympic archery as early as 1904, making it one of the early Olympic sports to include women. That history is one reason familiar mechanics can still feel new when they are recombined well.
