A strange little side quest
Red Us! belongs to a much longer story of play than a browser tab might suggest. By 1987, fantasy role-playing had become a major computer-game direction, with Zelda, licensed Dungeons & Dragons games and other story-led adventures expanding the form. And the history keeps stacking up: Atari's Gran Trak 10 from 1974 is recognized as the first arcade racing video game. The details change, but the appeal of learning a system and trying again is remarkably persistent.
