A strange little side quest
Playing With Fire belongs to a much longer story of play than a browser tab might suggest. Space Invaders, released in 1978, helped push video games into mainstream popular culture. The broader history adds one more wrinkle. Spacewar! appeared on MIT's PDP-1 in 1962 and became one of the earliest influential computer games shared among programmers. That is the kind of background detail that makes another attempt at Playing With Fire feel a bit more connected to the history of play.
