A strange little side quest
Put Planet Gravity next to the history of archery and a few unexpected connections appear. Women competed in Olympic archery as early as 1904, making it one of the early Olympic sports to include women. The broader history adds one more wrinkle. SimCity grew out of Will Wright's enjoyment of the map editor he had built for an earlier game; the act of shaping a city became the game itself. That long chain of experiments is part of why archery still feels fresh when a game finds the right twist.
