A strange little side quest
Zoom out from Om Nom Run for a moment and the timeline gets surprisingly deep. Atari's Gran Trak 10 from 1974 is recognized as the first arcade racing video game, decades before modern 3D racers. Another piece of context lands nicely beside it: Archery first appeared at the Olympic Games in 1900 and returned permanently to the programme in 1972 after a long absence. The screen is modern; the urge to test skill, pattern and timing definitely is not.
