A strange little side quest
There is a neat bit of history hiding behind the kind of play you find in Obby Hockey. By 1987, fantasy role-playing had become a major computer-game direction, with Zelda, licensed Dungeons & Dragons games and other story-led adventures expanding the form. That old idea kept changing rather than disappearing. Archery was already on the Olympic programme in 1900, boxing joined the modern Games in 1904, and basketball became a medal sport in 1936. That is the kind of background detail that makes another attempt at Obby Hockey feel a bit more connected to the history of play.
