A strange little side quest
Noob Huggy Kissy has plenty of company in a long tradition of players chasing timing, patterns and better decisions. Early computer role-playing games helped turn rules, inventories, exploration and character progression into systems that could support long-form digital adventures. And then there is this: Pong was field-tested in California bars in 1972 and helped launch the modern arcade-game era. That long chain of experiments is part of why role-playing games still feels fresh when a game finds the right twist.
