A strange little side quest
The rules may be simple on screen, but the backstory around Noob Help Sheep is anything but tiny. Alexey Pajitnov created Tetris in 1984 after drawing inspiration from pentomino puzzles, then simplified the idea around shapes made from four squares. The same trail leads to another fact: Chess changed dramatically in Europe during the 15th and 16th centuries when the queen became the board's most powerful piece. That history is one reason familiar mechanics can still feel new when they are recombined well.
