A strange little side quest
Zoom out from Neon Rider for a moment and the timeline gets surprisingly deep. Formula 1 introduced pit-lane speed limits during the 1994 season as safety concerns grew around increasingly fast cars and busier pit lanes. The broader history adds one more wrinkle. Computer Space reached arcades in 1971 and became one of the earliest commercial electronic arcade games, even though its controls proved demanding for many players. That is the kind of background detail that makes another attempt at Neon Rider feel a bit more connected to the history of play.
