A strange little side quest
My Dolphin Show has plenty of company in a long tradition of players chasing timing, patterns and better decisions. The Oregon Trail mixed travel, supplies, risk and survival decisions decades before resource-management systems became common in mainstream games. The same trail leads to another fact: Pong was field-tested in California bars in 1972 and helped launch the modern arcade-game era. That long chain of experiments is part of why simulation games still feels fresh when a game finds the right twist.
