A strange little side quest
There is a neat bit of history hiding behind the kind of play you find in Mush Work Together. Donkey Kong arrived in 1981 with a character called Jumpman, who would later become one of gaming's most recognizable figures: Mario. There is another connection worth keeping in the same mental pocket: The first crossword puzzle book appeared in 1924 in a cautious initial printing of 3,600 copies, complete with a free pencil. That is the kind of background detail that makes another attempt at Mush Work Together feel a bit more connected to the history of play.
