A strange little side quest
There is a neat bit of history hiding behind the kind of play you find in MORT the Sniper. The name Tetris combines a reference to four-square pieces with Pajitnov's interest in tennis. There is another connection worth keeping in the same mental pocket: Gun Fight reached arcades in 1975 and became the first arcade video game to use a microprocessor. That is the kind of background detail that makes another attempt at MORT the Sniper feel a bit more connected to the history of play.
