A strange little side quest
A little context makes Crossing Fire King of Sniper more fun to place on the gaming map. Space Invaders arrived in 1978 and helped turn electronic games from an arcade curiosity into mainstream entertainment. There is another connection worth keeping in the same mental pocket: Computer Space reached arcades in 1971 and became one of the earliest commercial electronic arcade games, even though its controls proved demanding for many players. The screen is modern; the urge to test skill, pattern and timing definitely is not.
