A strange little side quest
Zoom out from Mini Football for a moment and the timeline gets surprisingly deep. The first penalty shoot-out in World Cup history came in the 1982 semi-final between West Germany and France. The timeline takes another interesting turn: Archery was already on the Olympic programme in 1900, boxing joined the modern Games in 1904, and basketball became a medal sport in 1936. The screen is modern; the urge to test skill, pattern and timing definitely is not.
