A strange little side quest
Put Miley Goes to School next to the history of fashion and style and a few unexpected connections appear. During much of the 19th century in the United States, visibly painted cosmetics became socially unacceptable even though beauty practices never disappeared. That is only half the story. Pac-Man went on sale in 1980, and its creator Toru Iwatani famously linked the character's shape to a pizza with a slice missing. That gives Miley Goes to School a little more company than it first appears to have.
