A strange little side quest
A quick detour while Mess in the Ranch waits for your next move: SimCity grew out of Will Wright's enjoyment of the map editor he had built for an earlier game; the act of shaping a city became the game itself. And the history keeps stacking up: Pac-Man went on sale in 1980, and its creator Toru Iwatani famously linked the character's shape to a pizza with a slice missing. The details change, but the appeal of learning a system and trying again is remarkably persistent.
