A strange little side quest
One reason puzzles keeps producing good game ideas around Math Quizz is that its history is full of strange turns. The name Tetris combines a reference to four-square pieces with Pajitnov's interest in tennis. The same trail leads to another fact: The Oregon Trail began in 1971 when three student teachers created a computer simulation to help Minnesota schoolchildren learn American history. That gives Math Quizz a little more company than it first appears to have.
